SPCE a space tourism company announced that it will open tickets to the public on Wednesday February 16th. The steps needed to get reserved is $150,000 deposit which of $25,000 is not refundable and the ticket starting price is at $450,000 each. There're three different seat options available upon purchasing: a single seat, packaged seats for couples, friends or family, or the options to book the entire flight. After the announcement pre-market shares of Virgin Galactic jumped 28% from their previous close at $8.14 to current price at $10.60.
This Is great news for SPCE. It Is a step In the right direction to start generating cash flow and getting a better sense of the market and demand for their flights. Obviously In the long run, SPCE will need to book a significant number of fights to justify their valuation, but as an Investor It's nice to see them starting to move In the right direction.
There is a SPCE Stock Forum on Stocktwits, where the members of the SPCE board can post messages and pictures.
The SPCE stock forum has 135K members: SPCE is a very largely followed stock discussion on Stocktwits. Considering the size of the SPCE Stocktwits forum, there are not a lot of messages being sent in this discussion daily. However, there are enough messages to keep the content new and male it easy to follow. Like many of the other discussions on Stocktwits, the quality of the SPCE posts is typically low, however, and I find it hard to find quality messages/posts.
Daily message volume is 2560: The SPCE Stocktwits community is quite inactive when considering the overall size of the SPCE Stocktwits forum. A forum of SPCE's size should have more daily messages. However, when looking at their historical message volume, they reached over 5k messages/day in mid-January. I think the timing has a big role to play in the activity of the SPCE Stocktwits community.
Overall, the SPCE Stocktwits community is somewhat large, and can be very active, however at the time of writing this, their forum seems rather inactive. I find the SPCE Stocktwits forum to be on par with their subreddit. This has led me to rating the SPCE Stocktwits chat a 7/10.
The r/SPCE subreddit is essentially a SPCE stock discussion on Reddit that talks about SPCE stock, price, and diligence.
The SPCE Reddit page has 19,000 members: The SPCE Reddit is a medium to large sized subreddit for an individual stock. The SPCE Reddit community is relatively in active when looking at the size of their subreddit compared to the amount of people online. Even though they are quite inactive, the number of daily new posts is large enough to keep the content new and fresh.
As of writing this, r/SPCE has 146 active users: For a subreddit of SPCE's size 146 active users is not good at all. It may just be the timing of when I wrote this, but 146 active people from a subreddit of their size is not good. This subreddit is not very active, however there are enough new posts to keep things interesting.
Overall, the SPCE community is a decent size, and it seems like they post a lot, however their community is quite inactive. Due to this fact, I would rate the SPCE subreddit a 7/10.
SPCE's price target is set at 16.41 per share. Here is the review of consensus ratings analysts have given for SPCE. SPCE has earned an overall rating of 4/5, a risk rating grade of B+. SPCE earned a DCF valuation rating of 5/5, as well as a consensus return on equity of 3/5.
We have a price target set by one analyst who conducted significant Due Diligence on SPCE. WallStreetWhale has set a price target of $50 for SPCE. I think this is a reasonable estimate, especially given the background and detailed analysis of SPCE. Here is a link to the post titled: Make some Space in your portfolio for $SPCE - Virgin Galactic
The SPCE subreddit is quite inactive, however their posting frequency does not really reflect this, and I think that there is enough content on their subreddit to be considered “good”. The SPCE Stocktwits community is larger than their reddit community, and they are a bit more active, however their post quality tends to be a bit lower than reddit, which is why I have given them the same rating. Overall, I would rate the SPCE online community a 7/10.
