AMC theaters have tried to maintain relevance throughout the pandemic through streaming newer movies via their on demand app and also allowing reasonably priced theater rentals ($99-199) to parties of 20 or less. Finding innovative ways to generate revenue during the pandemic is the hallmark of a company with leadership that understands Variability, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity (VUCA) which are all things this pandemic has shown to be valuable in persevering the highly volitile public space that movie theaters are in.
I'm excited to hold this stock both long term and through some of the bumpy gains to be had short term while I build my war chest for more aggressive trading. Theaters with leadership like this will adapt to the coming changes and win. Movie night is an American tradition that will be hard to change, so this stock should weather the storm of uncertainty with the Reopening of America, pending the leadership stick to their guns and push for a safe and exciting experience in their theaters.
