REVENUE is the KEY to VALUATION. Without revenue you have nothing to work with. Efficiency improvement is almost irrelevant if revenue is declining.
12 months to October 2021-
Ford revenue - 134 billion = .59 x rev. = Market Cap - 77 billion
GM revenue - 128 billion = .68 x rev. = Market Cap - 86 Billion
Toyota revenue - 240 billion = 1.01 x rev. = Market Cap - 245 billion
Tesla revenue - 40 billion = 27.50 x rev. = Market Cap - 1100 billion
On a month to month basis Fords unit sales/revenue is up 40% in the last 2 months in a supply constrained environment. Sales/Revenue in Toyota and GM are down in the same 2 months. Tesla's growth over the last 2 months is half of what Fords is.
Keep an eye out for November unit sales figures. If Ford can continue this growth trajectory the stock will rise sharply shortly after.
Fords unit sales 3 months:
August 21 - 124,176
September 21 - 157,000 (+26% +32,824 )
October 21 - 175,918 (+12.1%. +18,918 )
